September 6, 2009 by DallanVolunteers have merged over 40,000 duplicate families that were created prior to the GEDCOM import & match process introduced last March. Special thanks to Jrm03063, Beth, JBS66, and Susan Irish, who each merged over 3000 duplicate families, and Jrich, Jillaine, Amelia.Gerlicher, Jlanoux, and Delijim, who each merged over 1000 duplicate families, along with over 100 other users. Proposal to amend WeRelate licensing
July 6, 2009 by DallanThe board of directors of the Foundation for On-Line Genealogy invite the WeRelate community to vote on a proposal to to license WeRelate material so it is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license (CC-BY-SA), while retaining dual licensing with the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). GEDCOM Export
June 22, 2009 by DallanGEDCOM Export is now available! You can now create GEDCOM files from your trees at WeRelate. Select Trees from the My Relate menu and click on the Export link.
April Update
May 7, 2009 by DallanI spent most of April making improvements to the new GEDCOM import process. In addition, searching and adding new sources is improved, bugs with your network (select Network from the MyRelate menu) not updating properly have been fixed, and your Dashboard and Trees pages now contain links to any GEDCOM’s that are waiting for review.
Recover uploaded GEDCOM’s
May 7, 2009 by DallanIs your genealogy backed up? You can now download GEDCOM’s that you’ve uploaded to WeRelate, even GEDCOM’s uploaded earlier this year or last year. Just click on “Trees” in the “MyRelate” menu and select “Download.”
